Neighbor Stewardship Agreements
The Federal Migratory Bird Treaty Act (16 U.S.C. Sec. 703 et seq.) and California State Fish and Game Code (FGC § 3513) prohibit the taking, killing, or possessing of nesting birds and their nests.
Prior to conducting defensible space activities on any given day under this permit, you, the permittee, shall:
- Check the work area for active bird nests.
- Report active bird nests immediately. You can use the form at the bottom of this page.
- Avoid active bird nests by a minimum distance of 30 feet while conducting defensible space activities.
