Overview
The California Tahoe Conservancy is planning a project at Van Sickle Bi-State Park (Park) to improve visitor safety, connect the Park to nearby neighborhoods and state line with new shared-use trails, expand amenities, and improve access for all. Building on a 2019 vision plan for the park, the Conservancy is exploring options to improve the Park entrance, trails, and facilities. The Conservancy also proposes to build a portion of the Dennis T. Machida Greenway (Van Sickle Connector), to connect Chonokis Road to the Van Sickle Shared-Use Trail.
The Conservancy is seeking public input on the proposed improvements until December 5, 2025.
The Conservancy invites the public to provide input via an online survey, by attending public workshops on November 17 and 20 (information below), or by emailing scott.cecchi@tahoe.ca.gov.
