Estimating the Costs of Land Bank Purchases

Land coverage purchases

There are three costs associated with a land coverage purchase:

1. The cost of your coverage or credit purchase (to be paid later). To estimate your cost:

2. Your escrow fee (to be paid later). To estimate your cost:

  1. You will pay a $200 escrow fee if your land coverage costs $150,000 or less.
  2. The escrow fee is $350 for transactions greater than $150,000, up to and including $400,000.
  3. The fee is $500 for transactions greater than $400,000.

The cost of your coverage and your escrow fee will be due later and made payable to First American Title Company

3. Your administrative fees associated with your coverage purchase.

  • All projects incur a $350 administrative transaction fee.
  • Projects that require an environmental document incur a $2,500 in administrative fees in addition to the standard $350 project fee, for a total of $2,850.

These administrative fees are payable to the Conservancy along with your application. Mail your check to: California Tahoe Conservancy, Attention: Land Bank Program, 1061 Third Street, South Lake Tahoe, California 96150
