Grant Pre-Application

This pre-application may be considered for multiple funding sources. Funding is dependent on annual appropriation. Eligible projects must show the applicant will implement the program or project within the California side of the Basin. After submitting the pre-application, Conservancy staff will be in touch regarding next steps. Please send any questions to: grants@tahoe.ca.gov.

Briefly describe the proposed project. Quantify the project’s goals and expected outcomes. Explain how the project meaningfully leads to multiple benefits. Identify the major tasks involved in the project. Is this project part of a larger plan or strategy? If so, which one? Describe why the project is needed. If you need access to the project site, explain how you would obtain permission to access and construct the project. If appropriate, attach a map of the project location (and photos, plans, or designs if helpful) and briefly describe the project location. Which work activities or products would be funded by this request? If applying for a Tahoe For All grant, please describe how your project aligns with the Program Priorities described in the Tahoe For All Program Description.

Environmental Compliance – California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA)

Please note the CEQA document does not need to be complete to apply for a grant, but the Conservancy will need to review and consider any CEQA document prior to awarding a Conservancy grant.

Applicant eligibility is determined by the Conservancy’s enabling statute. Staff encourages potential applicants to contact the Conservancy for assistance in determining eligibility.

Additional Information

Tribal engagement: If invited to submit the full application, the applicant may need to describe their tribal engagement process and may be required to do additional consultation or engagement.

All SDACs/DACs in California are eligible if tied to a project in the Tahoe Basin. Use the mapping tool to determine if your project benefits a SDAC and/or DAC.
