South Lake Tahoe, Calif. – The California Tahoe Conservancy announces that the gates to Van Sickle Bi-State Park will close after today, October 31, 2016 for the winter season. Although facilities at the Park are closed for the winter season, the grounds remain open year-round. Keep in mind that when parking lots and gates close, services such as water, restrooms and
trash collection are not available. When accessing the Park in the winter, be sure to park legally without blocking gates and take out your trash. Paid parking is available at the Parking Garage at Heavenly Village.
The Park provides opportunities for short day use outings, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, or just having fun in the snow; however, sledding is not allowed.
“Van Sickle Bi-State Park provides a fantastic recreational opportunity in close proximity to tourist core of South Lake Tahoe,” said California Tahoe Conservancy Executive Director Patrick Wright. “We encourage the public to enjoy this beautiful Park throughout the year.”
The Park entrance is located at the intersection of Heavenly Village Way and Montreal Road in South Lake Tahoe. For more information about Van Sickle Bi-State Park visit https://tahoe.ca.gov/van-sickle-bi-state-park/.
