A pair of peregrine falcons is nesting at Eagle Rock along a commonly used rock climbing route. The California Tahoe Conservancy asks rock climbers to please not climb on Eagle Rock until the end of the nesting period.
Peregrine falcons are sensitive to disturbance anywhere near the nest. Climbing on Eagle Rock may stress the nesting pair and could lead to nest failure. Conservancy staff has posted signage at the base of the climbing area. This sign will be removed when the nesting period is over.
