Details about Land Coverage Applications

Parcel Eligibility

The Tahoe Regional Planning Agency (TRPA) determines whether your parcel is eligible to receive rights. Please visit the TRPA website to review the TRPA Code of Ordinances and for more information.

When to Submit Your Application for Land Coverage

  1. Submit final project plans to your local building jurisdiction or TRPA (in rare cases, both).
  2. On the same day, submit your land coverage application to the Conservancy.
  3. Do not wait to receive your final building permit before applying to the Conservancy.

Timeline

It typically takes Conservancy staff up to four weeks to process each application. Some applications take longer. All transactions must be completed within four months.

Application Form Review

The Conservancy reviews all applications for eligibility. A separate application is required for each receiving parcel.

Pricing

  • The Conservancy charges a $350 administrative transaction fee for all land coverage applications.
  • The Conservancy charges an additional $2,500 fee for projects that require an environmental document.
