Snow is flying at Lake Tahoe, and the Conservancy’s crew operations and land management activities have wrapped up for the winter ahead. At the same time, Conservancy staff are finishing development of our new Strategic Plan, and will spend the winter continuing to plan for the large scale initiatives that make up an increasing share of our work. The recently released Fourth National Climate Assessment further demonstrates the urgency of prioritizing adaptation to climate change in all of our work. Also, so soon after the devastation wrought by the Camp and Woolsey fires, the need to increase the pace and scale of wildfire prevention in our forests has never been more clear. With our partners, we’ll keep at it.
