May 2018 Executive Director Newsletter

Published: Jun 01, 2018

Spring has sprung at Lake Tahoe, as cool, wet weather replenishes creeks and wetland areas, aspen trees leaf out, bear cubs are spotted, and the usual pre-summer road construction has begun in full force! It is a time for renewal and anticipation. The Conservancy has been busy, as the field crews are now on board, staff is preparing for up to $27 million in new bond funding through a June ballot proposition, and the Conservancy Board, staff, and partners are in the midst of developing a new five-year strategic plan. The Conservancy is looking forward with much hope and optimism as it gears up for this next phase of protecting and restoring the extraordinary natural and recreational resources at Lake Tahoe. We hope you are able to get out and enjoy the beauty of this special place!
